So, today is the day we will tell our fathers how much we love them. However, there is one category of children who are unable to tell their daddies the depth of their love. Because they cannot speak. Thus, they show it with their actions every single day.

But, if they could speak/ write, I believe this is what they would have liked to say –

Dear Pawpaw,

Thank you for choosing me & bringing me home. I know the initial days were tough when I peed & pooed all over the house. But you had an unwavering belief that I would learn one day. & I did! Thank you for believing in me & having patience with me.

Thanks for showing me the world early on, when I was too small to even wear a harness because you had faith, I would listen to you. I know I am evil when I use my puppy eyes on you to get what I want & what Dog – Ma would never approve of. But I know you are also my friend & would neither mind my evilness nor tell on me.

When I get scared by large dustbins & the sound of the mixer grinder, I find my strength by hiding behind/ under you. You never curb my curiosity & let me sniff anything I want, no matter how disgusting it looks. Whenever Dog – Ma tries to discipline me, it is you who supports me & lets me be a child.

I would have been terrified without you all the times you protected me from bigger dogs. I love how you can feel my heartbeat even through my leash. I love everything about you dad! I may be unable to say it, but I hope my actions prove it every day.

On that note, can I’ve a juicy bone today?

Love & woof

To all the dog-fathers, cheers! & Thank you for spoiling these little monsters silly!! Benji, Buddy, Butter, Chulbul, Coco, Floyd, Fluffy, George, Hades, Jordan, Oreo, Thumki & White love their pawpaws so very much.

  1. “She’s forgiven each transgression of mine; I don’t think any human can achieve such greatness.”
I totally agree how it’s a near impossible feat for humans to be so unconditionally forgiving of another who has betrayed or hurt them, and to genuinely mean it; the only one who did this was Jesus!
So God gave us even the dog to show us what is possible and what we should strive for in our short lives!
Mostly the world does not listen or try; such a tragedy!
God bless you and your beautiful doggies!
    Thank you!
    Peace Dear Sister!

  3. Fantastic and absolutely beautiful work here! A priest/friend who helped me understand some important things asked me a rhetorical question of “what is the word Dog spelled backwards!” I never thought of that I exclaimed; that is so great!
I think you will find this essay worthy and it revolved around one of my most important conversations with my priest/friend!

    Thank you!
    God bless you and yours!

    1. Thank you Lawrence! Dog spelt God backwards sounds about right if I consider how unconditionally my puppy has loved me (as well as my childhood dogs & strays/ other pets).

She’s forgiven each transgression of mine; I don’t think any human can achieve such greatness.

Heading to your blog to read your post. Thank you for dropping by!
