I met a woman an eon ago who wove dreams with me

& with whom I made a lifetime plan

Calling it love will belittle it but what do you say when

Her image brings a smile, her voice carries my soul

It’s a void with her not around

Life is meaningless

I’m hanging in there, trying not to break

Let me face the challenge, see how much I can take

It was never easy to break me, but bruise you could

I’ll be lying if I say it’s the same this time, I feel abused

Life’s a cruel joke at which I’ll laugh one day

Right now, with my woman, in spirit, I stay

I’ll be relieved when she’s well again

Even when apart, she’ll remain mine

No prayer, no belief, no God, no hope

But her love helps me cope…
