The only bit about my life that was not in my hands was my birth. Maybe my death won’t be either. But, in between, I’ve the power to make/ break my life. I’ve free will.

I may be right. I may be wrong. Let me learn the lessons. Let the actions remain my will. I may lead a meaningless life. I may not care for standards. As Bon Jovi said, “It’s my life; it’s now or never I ain’t gonna live forever; I just wanna live while I’m alive.”
My life’s different. Why should I accept terms & conditions? I may make a complete fool of myself. I may stumble. I may be shattered. But I’ll at least have the comfort of learning my own way. As long as I’m not harming anyone, I don’t see a reason for interference.
I’ve boundaries. Respect them. Let me live. Let me breathe. Let me learn. Don’t clip my wings. Let me be who I’m. I may turn out to be better than expected. Don’t make me rebel.

Birds 🐦 do fly , either at will , or by purpose . They fly high, sometimes in restricted zone, sometimes beyond boundaries. But they do come back to their nests to get solace and solitude. People are different in many ways. We should respect their individuality. Some become Buddha, some Krishna. Some live for themselves, some live for others. Some surrender, some rebel . We live once. We should care and love near and dear ones. You never know what happens next. Better to love today rather than regret later. Love yourself, love it most. Love them also who love you.

I agree with all you’ve written. Respecting individuality is the bottom line. If I don’t infringe on anyone else’s individuality, I expect the same for myself.
The beauty of life is the different strokes we’re painted with. But, when people impose their will over someone, they’re killing this vibrant difference.
Love’s not about terms & conditions. Love’s about letting one be & letting go. If someone loves me, s/ he will never obstruct/ question my free will!
